228 Steps - One Amazing Journey
Wacky Wednesdays
FREE for Children 12 and under
Offered on Wednesdays through July and August from 11am to 3pm. Each themed program includes crafts and activities, as well as theme related coloring pages, and possibly movies.
July 2nd - The Salty Sea
Dive in! Make a splash! Come make a paper craft killer whale, shark or narwhal, create your own sea sticker scene, mosaic ornament, fuzzy fish magnet, or color in and assemble your own little beach book.
July 9th - Pirates and mermaids
Ahoy, me hearties! Make your own paper pirate flag, Jack Cannonball paper bag puppet, or color in your own pirate hat. For our visiting sirens, create a popsicle stick mermaid puppet, or foam craft mermaid ornament.
July 16th - Fairy Tales
King or Queen? Prince or Princess? Design your own crown coat of arms, make a frog prince paper bag puppet, or king and queen popsicle stick puppets. We also have a mosaic foam crown for you to design or a unicorn crown to color in.
July 23rd - Gifts of the garden
What would you plant in your own garden? Flowers? Vegetables? Fruit? Make a pompom caterpillar, decorate a biodegradable flower pot, create a flower sticker scene, or make a stacked flower ornament. You can also take a self-guided tour through our 21 bed community garden and see what is growing!
July 30th - Dinosaurs
Ever wonder what is was like to walk among the dinosaurs? Become a paleontologist for the day. Make a dinosaur popsicle stick puppet, hatching baby dinosaur with egg, dinosaur sticker scene, or a dinosaur mask.
August 6th - Outer Space
Learn about our solar system and outer space. Make a solar system paper hat, solar system sticker scene, or color in your own rocket.
August 13th - Surfin’ Safari
Lions, tigers, and bears – oh my! Make your own safari animal sticker scene, color in an animal face mask, and more.
August 20th - Wacky Wednesday Soup
Feast on select crafts from throughout the previous Wacky Wednesday themes.
